Rozenburg Single Cup

This is a superb cup made by Rozenburg in the early 20th century - 1902 if I read the date code correctly. I am always on a lookout for their wares and am even happy to find a perfect single cup without a saucer as so many of their examples have chips and cracks. Rozenburg eggshell porcelain was only made from about 1900 until 1914 and is about as Art Nouveau as you can get! They were situated in The Hague, Holland's seat of government. The eggshell porcelain is amazingly thin and delicate unlike anything else you can find in the world of European porcelain! It is called eggshell porcelain, but in fact it is very thin earthenware. Here we have a cute little cup that is hand painted with a superb floral design that fits the shape of the pieces perfectly. The cup is in perfect condition which is not common at all due to the thinness of the paste. It is marked with the black Rozenburg Den Haag mark with the stork in the middle as well as the usual artist and year marks, etc. The artist seems to be Jacobus van Rossum. The cup is just under 2.25 inches tall and 2.25 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
