Schlaggenwald Floral Plate #4

This is a plate made by Schlaggenwald in the mid 19th century around 1839. Schlaggenwald was founded by Georg Paulus in 1793. The Greiners took it over around 1800 and in 1808 Lippert & Hass took it over from them. It was still around after 1945. The plate has a nice shape to it with the relief design jutting into the rim from the edge highlighted with gilding and the superb hand painted flower in the center in this case being a nice red and white Buttercup . It has the green stalk with two leaves and a nice fluffy blossom to it. The plate is in good condition with wear to the gilding and a small area of tiny pin head sized paint flakes to the blossom. A black firing spot to the underside rim. It displays very nicely as shown in the pictures. The piece is marked with the impressed Lippert & Haas In Schlaggenwald mark as well as an impressed 839 for 1839 (similar to Vienna ), another impressed letter and a number mark as well as the numbers 35 and 32 as painter's mark. The name of the flower in black script on the back in German - Ranunkel . The plate is 1.25 inches tall and 7.75 inches in diameter. I have a few other plates from this set on the site if anyone is interested in a pair or more. Please email me for more information or photos.
