Schney / Schlaggenwald Cup

This is a nice cup made by either Schney or Schlaggenwald in the late 18th or early 19th century. It is hand painted with blue and green forget me not flowers, a nice swan neck and head shaped handle and some gold trim. Likely a token of affection or gift for a loved one. The cup displays nicely but sadly it has a stable hairline by the handle as shown. It is not very visible from the inside but the outside has stained a bit over time. The piece is marked with the under glaze blue script S. mark used before 1830 and as early as 1780 as well as an impressed number 5 and 4 and a faint grey 7 as a painter's mark. The piece including the handle is 3 inches tall and 2.75 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or photos.
