Giant Cockatoo Bird Figurine

This is a huge figurine of a cockatoo bird made by the Schwarzburger Werkstätten in the earlier 20th century. It was designed by Hugo Meisel in 1920 and is from this period. Not a model one sees often at all and it is superb. Really nicely modeled and left in the white to show off all that detail! Really quite large for a porcelain figure! The piece displays nicely but does have a chip to the leaf in front a shown. Not very obvious when on display! The piece is 18.75 inches tall tall, 6 inches wide and about 11.5 inches deep. The piece is marked on the side of the base with the incised artist mark as shown and underneath with the model number U1247 as well as the impressed fox mark and the manufacturer's mark - Schwarzburger Werkstaetten fuer Porzellankunst as shown.
