Henry IV Bust

This is a biscuit figural bust of the famous King Herny IV (aka Henry the Usurper ) made by Sevres in the late 19th century - 1888/90/91. Henry was the King of ENgland from 1399 until 1413. The bust is made of unglazed bisque or biscuit porcelain and is extremely well modelled with lots of superb details. He is wearing a draped cuirass with what looks to be lion faces on his shoulders. He has a beard and has a laurel wreath on his head. A stunning piece and the unevenly blue ground colored base with the gold trim only brings it out even more. The piece is in perfect condition. A very clear and crisp mold! The bust is marked on the back by his shoulders with the impressed Sevres mark as well as the year mark for 1890 and under the base there is the green Sevres year mark S .88 in an oval type shape as well as the red gilder's mark for 1891 and the usual incised marks of this period. The piece is 5.125 inches tall, about 3.25 inches wide and 2.375 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
