Lapis Lazuli Color Vase

This is a large, elegant and simply superb vase made by Sevres in 1875. The piece has their famous deep cobalt blue ground color with lighter shades here in there I think was meant to look a bit like lapis lazuli. It is one of my favorite colors in the world of porcelaine specially with the combination of gilding. There is just enough simple gold trim to make the vase very elegant in combination with its shape. with a superb fancy gold trim that reminds me of palm leaves around the top part of the side and some tiny scattered gold designs to the rest of the piece as well as gold trim to the edges. That cobalt blue and gold trim cobmination is definitely my favorite color combination in the porcelain world! Stunning and elegant. The piece is in perfect condition. The piece is marked underneath with the red Dore a Sevres mark with a 75 in it for 1875. Oddly enough no other mark like the green mark or incised marks normally found on these but the peice was definitely made by Sevres during this period. Impossible to copy that quality! The vase is 12.25 inches tall and about 4 inches in diameter at the widest point. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
