Art Nouveau Creamer from Set

This is an amazing creamer / milk / cream jug made by Sevres in 1923. Made during the Art Deco period but still influences by the Art Nouveau period this is a very rare design and quite stunning. The desiger of the shapes was Louis Georges Claude (project 18-23) and the decoration was designed by Auguste H. Thomas (worked at Sevres between 1920 and 1925) in 1923 using the Petit Feu technique of low temperature firing. A stunning end result! I could only find one other example that did not include the tray but did include six cups and sold for over 70K. Presumably in better shape as well. I wish I had the cups :) The teapot has a nice sleek shape to it and is hand painted with a blue and gold design. Two different shades of blue with the darker blue along the bottom being raised enamels so they can be felt kind of like pate sur pate pieces. The piece is in great condition with a tiny flat chip to the top tip of the spout. Invisible when on display! The pot is marked with the S over 1923 of DN mark in a black rectangle as well as the Decore a Sevres mark under it, an artist mark J in brown and the usual incised marks as shown. The creamer is 2.375 inches tall, 3 inches from spout to handle and has a diameter of 2.25 inches. A really fun creamer - one of the nicest I have ever owned from this period! I also have the teapot, sugar dish and tray if anyone wants to own the entire set. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1249
