Fancy Gold & Blue Plate

This is a superb plate made by Sevres in 1873 and gilded in 1880. The piece is decorated with a nice cobalt blue ground color along the rim with a nice gold leaf and berry garland trim to the edge and a Vermicelli gold design to the rest of the rim. Kind of looks like a work made its way through the blue :) I am more familiar with this type of gold design on English pieces from the early 19th century and have not seen it on a Sevres piece. Really quite nice! A gold design medallion in the white center of the plate makes this a very elegant piece! The plate in superb condition with just a bit of wear to the gilding. The plate is 1.25 inches tall and just over 9.5 inches in diameter. The piece is marked underneath with the green S.73 in an oval, the red Dore a Sevres mark with the year mark for 1880, an artist mark along the foot ring as well as the usual incised markings that authentic Sevres porcelain from this period always has.
