Blue w/ Gold Trim Sugar Dish

This is a dish with its lid made by Sevres in the later 19th century or to be more exact in 1881 and gilded in 1884. The sugar pot is decorated with their famous deep blue ground color with a nice gold trim. That combination is always stunning! Both pieces are in superb condition with a teeny chip (possibly from when it was made) to the underside ring of the lid as shown. The main body is marked underneath as shown with the green Sevres S.81 oval mark in green as well as the Dore a Sevres mark in red for 1884. It also has a decorator's mark and incised marks one would expect on an original piece from this period. The dish including the lid is 5.25 inches tall and 3.75 inches in diameter.
