Rare Blue Flambe Glaze Vase

This is a rare vase made by Sevres around 1900. It is covered with one of their famous and quite rare special glazes - this one being the blue flambe one but they also made oxblood ones in this style. This piece here is all in different shades of blue with the lighter blue flowing over the darger cobalt blue solor. Godl trim to the edges and inside top. This is truly an amazing glaze! The vase is in perfect condition with a touch of wear to the gilding on the inside edge and the occasional scratch to the clear glaze which does not detract. It is marked underneath with the S.99 which means the blank was made in 1899 and the red Dore a Sevres gilder's mark for 1901. There are also the usual incised marks underneath as shown. The vase is 5.625 inches tall and 2.875 inches in diameter. An extremely rare piece to find! Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1249
