Sevres Falconet Mark Figurine

This is a great figurine made by Sevres in about 1760. The figure is made of biscuit porcelain (unglazed porcelain) and is of a young man or boy resting while sitting on some rock and leaning on the basket of grapes he just picked. The basket is a typical French harvest basket of the period. Nice rocky base typical to these figures and a stick behind his legs and a bunch of grapes in his outstretched hand. Nicely modeled figurine and it being unglazed means all the details are much clearer. The figure is marked underneath with an incised F for Falconet. Falconet added his F to pieces he approved so this was not necessarily modeled by him. The piece displays superbly but has some fine black kiln dust mainly on the right side of the base and some over spray from an old restoration which means I cannot tell you exactly what is wrong with the piece as it was well done. Here is what I think it has - I think there iwas a hole on top of his head, The out stretched arm was off and the thumb was restored. It is impossible to tell though and the piece looks nice. The overspray is often so much worse than the damage sicne they try to hide the repair. The paint covers part of his back and his hair and face but that was definitely not worked on. The figurine is 4.875 inches tall, 4.375 inches wide and 2.5 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
