Softpaste Floral Plate

This is a plate made by Sevres in 1773. This type of dish with its simple, refined decoration was featured as part of large dinner services of the period and is a favorite of serious collectors. It is made of soft paste porcelain and is hand painted with their famous enamel flower arrangements or bouquets as well as a single flower with some honey gilding and blue trim. The plate is in superb condition with just some minor use marks and tiny black firing spot but it displays perfectly and is a very nice example. The piece is marked with the blue interlaced LL mark with the date letter U for 1773 as well as two decorator marks - one could be for Bertrand who painted flowers from 1757 until 1774 and the other for Vande pere a gilder and flower painter from 1753 until 1779. The plate is 1 inch tall and 9.875 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
