Superb Open Salt Dish

This is a really nice open salt / spice dish made by Sevres in the early 19th century around 1815. Authentic pieces from this period are rather hard to find. In the period just after the revolution fewer items were made for export but the support of Napoleon I and a wealthy upper class kept the factory going. This piece here is a really nice example from this period. More about the shape than the decoration! It has a very elegant look to it with the gilding giving it the perfect finishing touch! The open salt is in superb condition with some very minor use marks to the gilding but no real wear. The piece is 3.625 inches tall, 5.625 inches wide and 2.5 inches deep. It is marked underneath with the blue printed double L mark with the fleur de lis in the center, the name Sevres and a two number date code which is impossible to make out on this piece here. A really simple yet elegant piece. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
