Honeycomb Reticulated Creamer

This is a superb and rare creamer made by Sevres in 1881 and gilded in 1892. A very ahrd to find piece as one occasionally sees a cup and saucer and even once in a blue moon the pot or sugar dish but I have never seen the creamer! A very famous and sought after design with the body being double walled with the outside wall being reticulated with two patterns - the honeycomb and a star like pattern with a central design highlighted with gilding. More gilding along the edge of the reticulated areas, the top and bottom rim and the bamboo imitation shaped handle which is just stunning. The reticulation is extremely fine and well done. The creamer is in great condition which is amazing given the extremely fragile nature of this design and the age. It was rather filthy when I found it and needs a bit more cleaning. There was this layer of black stuff on it which is still seen a tiny bit on the inner layer and a tiny bit on the reticulated pieces as well as along the handle where it conencts to the body, an area to the inside where the glaze didn't take and the black stuck more easily and along the bottom edge where there are some scratches that took that black color in more. I cleaned it with a toothbrush, toothpick and anything esle I could think of but it needs a little more still. The piece displays perfectly and has no chips, etc. The milk pot is 2.25 inches tall and 2.875 inches in diameter. The dish is marked underneath with the green S.81. mark in an oval, the circular gilder's mark in red Dore a Sevres with the year mark 92, the usual incised letters and numbers as is typical for Sevres of this period as shown.
