Jesus Christ Bust

This is a large biscuit figural bust of Jesus Christ made by Sevres in 1882. The bust is made of unglazed bisque or biscuit porcelain and is extremely well modeled with lots of superb details. A very hard to find and stunning piece and the blue ground colored base with the gold trim only brings it out even more. Normally these would have the name of the person written on it but he does not need introductions :) The piece is in superb condition with a few black firing lines from the manufacturing process normal to these large early figurines as well as a small flat chip to the bottom edge of the base which was painted and gilded over to hide it perfectly. Could use a bit more of a cleaning but I did a bit already as he was in bad need of a cleaning when I got him! The bust is marked on the back by his shoulders with the impressed Sevres mark as well as the letter D 12 4 or soemthing along those lines. The base has the red gilder's mark including the year mark 82 in a circle as well as the usual incised marks (hard to read in this case) of this period. A green script E. as the artist's mark. The figurine is 12.5 inches tall, about 8 inches wide and 5.5 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
