Jewelled Small Saucer #2

This is a really nice small saucer made by Sevres in the 18th century after 1780 when they started using the " jewelled " decoration. It is made of soft paste porcelain and decorated with applied 'jewels' - the little alternating raised white and red enamel dots on gold foil. Gold trim to the edge. There are two rings of these " jewels " one around the well and one on the rim. The enamel dots are are attached to little thin pieces of gold and then fired onto the porcelain which makes for an amazing look! Most of these are done later but this example was actually done at Sevres. Sadly it is just a small saucer no cup :( The dish is marked with the interlaced double L mark in gold with the letter LG under it which are probably for LeGrand who was a gilder at Sevres from 1776 until 1817. It also has some of the usual incised marks to the underside and the little hole in the foot ring from firing typical for Sevres pieces as shown. The saucer is in great condition with a couple of the jewels missing as seen in the pictures. Not bad and it displays nicely. minimal wear. The dish is 0.75 inches tall and just over 3 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $299
