Louis 14th Bust

This is a biscuit figural bust of the famous King Louis XIV (aka Louis the Great or the Sun King) made by Sevres in the late 19th century - 1891/92. The bust is made of unglazed bisque or biscuit porcelain and is extremely well modelled with lots of superb details. He is wearing a perruque, a sash across his chest and a loose bow around his neck. Tons of relief detail to his shirt. A stunning piece and the blue ground colored base with the gold trim only brings it out even more. The piece is in great condition with a couple of chips to the bottom ends of his bow as shown. Not obvious at all when on display. A very clear and crisp mold! The bust is marked on the back by his shoulders with the impressed Sevres mark as well as the letters RC and under the base there is the green Sevres year mark 91 in an oval type shape as well as the red gilder's mark for 1892 and the usual incised marks of this period plus a circular green mark. The piece is 5.25 inches tall, about 3.625 inches wide and 2.5 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
