Louis 16th Bust

This is a large biscuit figural bust of the famous King Louis XVI made by Sevres in the late 19th century. The bust is made of unglazed bisque or biscuit porcelain and is extremely well modelled with lots of superb details. A stunning piece and the blue ground colored base with the gold trim only brings it out even more. Just in case on didn't know who he was his name is on the front of the base :) The piece is in perfect condition with two firing cracks in the crease of his arms - a common issue on these solid pieces. A very clear and crisp mold as his medals stand out much better than on the other model I own. A bit of dirt in a spot or two but all in all about as nice an example as you can find! The bust is marked on the back by his shoulders with the impressed Sevres mark as well as the letters AC, incised Louis 16 and the base has the green Sevres mark year mark 92 in an oval type shape as well as the red gilder's mark for 1895 and the usual incised marks of this period. He is 11 inches tall, about 7.5 inches wide and 5 inches deep. I have the matching bust of hhis wife Marie Antoinette as well and it is almost impossible to find the pair! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
