Marie Antoinette Bust

This is a large biscuit figural bust of the famous Marie Antoinette made by Sevres in 1871/75/76. The bust is made of unglazed bisque or biscuit porcelain and is extremely well modeled with lots of superb details. A stunning piece and the blue ground colored glazed base with the gold trim only brings it out even more. Just in case on didn't know who she was her name is on the front of the base :) The piece is in superb condition with some manufacturing flaws common to these early solid pieces. Some firing cracks, tiny black ash spots and a few pock marks but no after manufacturing damage. Some of the cracks have some yellow stain in them from age I assume. Took lots of pictures so have a look. Most issues are in the back and none take away from the piece. She displays superbly! The bust is marked on the back by her shoulders with the impressed Sevres mark as well as the letter M 75 10 so the bust part was made in 1875. The base has the green Sevres mark year mark S.71 for 1871 in an oval type shape as well as the red gilder's mark for 1876 and the usual incised marks of this period. She is 12.5 inches tall, about 7 inches wide and 4 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
