Interesting Klinger Insect Sugar Bowl

This is a very interesting sugar bowl dish made by Sevres in 1911. Made to look older than it actually is and makred with a Meissenc rossed swords mark as shown which I have only seen done in the 18th century by them before. I wonder if it was made as a replacement piece? Either way a really interesting example from them. It is hand painted with a puce floral arrangement to the front and back plus lots of polychrome insects in the manner of Klinger with shadows. Puce trim to the edges and the handle on either side of the bowl. Two forget me not blossoms to either side with a slight shadow to them as well. The piece is missing its lid and has a chip to the top edge as shown which can be turned to the back side. The piece is marked with the impressed date code h 43-11 as well as some artist marks as shown and the blue crossed swords mark as shown. The dish is about 3.25 inches tall and 3.75 inches from handle to handle. Top diameter is 3 inches. A really fun and unusual sugar pot and not something you'll see again anytime soon! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
