Mottled Blue Cup & Saucer

This is a superb large cup and saucer made by Sevres in 1898 / 1904. The set is hand painted with their famous mottled deep cobalt blue color (I think it is meant to imitate lapis lazuli) with little gold flowers scattered around and a simple gold trim to the edges and handle. The handle has a really nice shape to it! It even has gold flowers on white ground on the inside of the cup and the blue ground to the underside of the saucer. I always love how they even color the underside rim blue - just a nice touch! The set is in perfect condition which is always a plus. Both pieces are marked underneath - the cup having the green S.98 in an oval in green and the saucer the S 1904 in a rectangle in green. Both also have the usual incised marks as well as the same artist mark though the one on the cup is a bit faint and hard to see. Some other artist's / painter's marks as well. The saucer is 1 inch tall and just under 6 inches in diameter. The cup is 3.125 inches tall and just over 3 inches in diameter so quite a bit alrger than a normal sized set. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
