Leaf Garland & Roses Saucer Dish

This is an interesting saucer dish made by Sevres in the 18th century- 1784 to be exact. Not entirely sure what this saucer would be for but possibly a sugar dish though the ones I could find were larger so it might be for something else. Either way the piece is hand painted with some really nice roses including buds and leaves as well as a leaf garland to the rim and around the well. Gold trim to the edge and well edge. The enamels on soft paste porcelain are stunning - much nicer than hard paste if you have never owned a piece. The dish is marked underneath with the interlaced L mark in blue with the date code GG for 1784 and the painter's mark for Fontaine (J.) who painted at the factory from 1752 until 1807 - a very long time! Typical incised marks to the paste though I cannot make them out and the little hole from the firing process. The saucer is in good condition withwear to the gilding and use marks to the enamels mainly in the center well area. That is normal on soft paste peices as they wore much more easily. The piece displays very well. If anyone out there knows what type of saucer this it I would appreciate a quite note. The saucer is 1.25 inches tall, 7 inches wide and 5.5 inches deep.
