Crystalline Glaze Vase

This is very very rare and beautiful vase made by Sevres in 1900 right in the midst of the Art Nouvea / Jugendstil period. It is decorated with the elusive crystalline glaze whose outcome cannot be predicted during the firing and was thus not economically feasible to produce except a few rare examples. The only porcelain makers that even tried were Meissen, KPM, Sevres and Copenhagen besides off course the original Chinese makers. I have never owned one of these by them and rarely ever seen them outside of books or museums. This vase has a bluish and off white uneven striped design to the body with the crystals growing on top of that. Most are around the neck area and bottom with a few scattered around the rest of the body. The vase has a nice shape to it and is a gorgeous example! The vase is in superb condition with a manufacturing flaw in two of the crystals around the neck area as shown. This happens with these pieces and it is still a first choice! This is not considered damage just part of the issues they encountered with these glazed which is why they stopped doing them and they are so rare. The vase is marked with their triangle mark underneath with S over 1900 in it plus the usual incised marks one finds on authentic Sevres pieces as shown. The vase is 5.125 inches tall and it has a diameter of 3 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
