Reticulated Cup & Saucer

This is a superb cup and saucer made by Sevres in 1882 and 1898 and gilded in 1903. Very normal for this maker to have pieces from different years used as long as they are gilded within the same year. The saucer is reticulated with two gold lines - one around the center well and one on the edge of the rim and some gilding around the inner design. The cup is double walled the outside wall also being reticulated with a bit of gold trim. A really delicate design that looks and feels amazing. Nice bamboo look handle. The set is in superb condition with just a very minor inside edge flat chip that was perfectly and invisibly restored. It did not affect the outside at all and is only visible when one used a bright light to shine through the porcelain. The saucer is 4.875 inches in diameter and the cup is 1.75 inches tall and 2.875 inches in diameter. The pieces are marked underneath with the green S.82 and S.98 mark in an oval and the gilders mark in red Dore a Sevres for 1903. Incised are some letters and numbers as is typical for Sevres of this period. They are hard to read but are there. Also an old museum ID in red.
