Terra Cotta Statue

This is a large statue of one of the four season made in terra cotta by Sevres during the Art Nouveau period around 1900. The statue is draped with a cloth and is holding a grape in the left hand and has grapes on the base as well. This piece is impressive due to its size and detail plus it is very very heavy. The figurine is 31 inches tall, 7 inches deep and 10 inches wide. It is in superb condition with no chips, etc. Off course there is some dirt due to the age but it just adds to the charm of this piece. These were often put outside and thus many are damaged so this is not a common piece at all! The statue is marked just over the base in the back with the impressed round Sevres mark stating Manufacture de Sevres and Medaille D'Or . Not sure when they won the gold medal but it must have been one of the big Expositions around that time. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
