Yellow Ground Cup & Saucer

This is a cup and saucer made by Sevres in the 18th century. It does not have a date mark but I'd venture to guess it was made around 1760-1770. This set is handpainted with a superb yellow ground color with cartouches of roses in different states of bloom surrounded by garlands of leaves. The yellow ground has lots of little "eyes" on it made up of tiny circles of dots in red. They are both marked underneath with the interlaced L mark one being blue the other a dark puce. There is no date or painters mark but the paste has incised marks of the formers. Each has the little hole from the firing process. The saucer still has a little black in the hole. The saucer is in superb condition with an area where the top clear glaze is worn which makes the yellow look a bit more matte. The cup displays very well but has a hairline which is much more easily seen from the inside. The cup is 1.875 inches tall and just under 2 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 4.25 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
