Silver Plate & Glass Ointment Jar

This is a nice little glass jar with a silver plated lid likely for use as an ointment pot - not sure when and where it was made but it has some nice age to it. Likely 19th century. Could be used as a pill box or anything of that nature. The glass part has a nice shape to it having 11 sides to it with a cut in star shape to the underside. The lid is fairly simple. It still fits on perfectly and holds tight. The set is in great condition - the lid needs a light polishing, has a little copper showing along the very edge and has a small dent in it that is not obvious. The glass has a tiny chip to the udnerside edge that is not visible when on display! The entire piece is about 1.5 inches tall with a diameter of 1.625 inches.
