Strasbourg Hannong Plate

This is a rare plate made by Hannong's Strassbourg factory in the mid 18th century. I have rarely ever seen dishes by him and just a few figurines over the years. Never a plate and only one cup so it is a treat to see. The plate is simply potted with a ring edged around the rim, a larger handpainted floral arrangement in the center as well as three smaller arrangements on the rim. Two leaves to cover up (kind of) two large firing flaws. The painting is of superb quality! The plate is in great condition apart from some firing flaws and chips to the footring which also look to be mostly from the making. The piece is marked underneath which is nice. It has the underglaze H with the dot over it mark with V26 under it in blue and next to it incised into the paste. Also A13 or something along those lines incised. The plate is 1.25 inches tall and 9.625 inches in diameter.  Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
