Meissen Teichert Mortar & Pestle

This is a porcelain mortar & pestle set made by The Meissner Ofen-und Porzellanfabrik Teichert around 1900. The set is hand painted in the famous blue onion design all around the mortar and has a ltitle flower design at the one end of the pestle plus some blue trim lines. The other end of the pestle is unglazed and the mortar has a handle type structure to either end. This about the nicest blue onion mortar I have come across except one that was made by Meissen - the top German maker. The set is in great condition with a touch of use wear to the pestle which is sort of the point of these so it is expected. They display perfectly and look superb. A must have for a blue onion or kitchen utensil collector for sure! The mortar is marked underneath with the T arrow type mark as well as a blue number 27.. and three impressed 1 or lines. The mortar is 3.625 inches tall with a diameter of 5.625 inches (outer diameter) The pestle is 6.5 inches long and 1.875 inches in diameter at the ends.
