Tettau Eyebath

This is a rare eye bath made in Germany and most likely by Tettau during the mid to later 19thc entury. It is hand painted with the famous under glaze blue strawflower ( Strohblumen ) pattern with a touch of gold trim along the bottom edge. These pieces are very hard to find and never stay around long. If you consider the size to price ratio these are probably some of the most expensive items out there :) The eyebath is in superb condition with the gilding along the bottom edge worn. The piece is 2 inches tall, 2 inches wide and 1.375 inches deep. The eyebath is unmarked but definitely from Germany during this period. I ahve seen marked examples like this from Tettau so it is msot likely by them. Please e-mail me for more information or photos.

Price is $399
