Thun Kloesterle Cup & Saucer

This is a cup and saucer made by Klösterle / Thun in the late 18th or early 19th century. The company was started in 1794 by the order of Count F.J. Thun by Nicolaus Weber and the arcanist Sonntag. It changed hands a few times and is actually still around today. The cup and saucer are marked with the underglaze blue TK mark used around 1800 underneath. The cup has a nice scene of a town on the Sachsische ( Sächsische Saale ) Saal which is a river in the Bavaria region on the front surrounded by a gold frame, nice gold trim to the edges of both the cup and the saucer and a swan neck/head shaped handle hgihlighted with gilding to the head. The cup including the handle is 3.25 inches tall and 2.875 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and has a diameter of 5.375 inches. Both pieces are in superb condition with some wear to the gold trim of the saucer. Please email me for more information or photos.
