Fruit Scene Tea Caddy

This is a fantastic lidded tea jar / caddy made by one of the Thuringia area makers - possibly Gotha - around 1780. This piece is nicely handpainted with two fruit still life scenes - one on the front and one on the back. The scenes include fruit, flowers and leaves on a table surface framed in gold with tiny flowers on each side in gold. Nice gold trim to the top and the finial of the lid. The finial is a typical shape used by Gotha but I am sure others in the area used it as well. The handle finial has a fake screw on either side where it attaches to the main body which I like. The piece is in perfect condition! It is not marked underneath so making a perfect attribution is difficult. The pot and lid are 5.125 inches tall and 2.5 inches square on the sides. Please email me for more information or photos.
