Liebenstein Scenic Plate

This is a scenic plate made most likely by Gotha around in the mid 19th century. Definitely from the Thuringia area of Germany and the quality as wel as the underside, paste and the large impressed nubmer all lead me to believe this piece was made by Gotha though it is unmarked otherwise. Gotha is probably the best of the Thuringia makers in terms of quality of the paste and painting. This plate is hand painted with a superb quality large scene in the center as well as two wide gold rings. The title on the underside states it is the city of Liebenstein which is a spa resort type town in the Thuringian forest. Extremely well painted scene with buildings and trees as well as a couple with their child taking a walk in the front. The plate is in great condition with some wear to the inner gold trim. It is marked underneath with the impressed large number 3 and has the location of the scene in black. The plate is 8 inches in diameter and 0.875 inches tall. Please email me for more information or photos.
