Thuringia Tea Caddy

This is a rare perfect tea jar or tea caddy made by one of the Thüringer makers in the 18th century. It is unmarked but the paste and design is certainly that of Rauenstein , Gotha or Wallendorf . Strawflower or Stohblumen design was used by many markers and is still used today. Highly collectible. The piece is in mint condition but has flaws from the making - the lid is not perfectly round and neither is the opening and the bottom sides of the caddy are caved in a little bit. All signs of age and add to the charm of the early pieces. Some small black firing specs as well. Flat bottom. The piece is 4.5 inches tall, 2.5 inches wide and 1.75 inches deep.
