Wilhelmsthal Scenic Plate

This is a scenic plate made most likely by Gotha around in the mid 19th century. Definitely from the Thuringia area of Germany and the quality as wel as the underside, paste and the large impressed nubmer all lead me to believe this piece was made by Gotha though it is unmarked otherwise. Gotha is probably the best of the Thuringia makers in terms of quality of the paste and painting. This plate is hand painted with a superb quality large scene in the center of Wilhelmsthal including a nice lake with a boat on it, some buildings and lots of trees. Wilhelmsthal is located near Coburg in Germany. Extremely well painted scene with lots of detail. Two wide gold rings as trim. The plate is in good condition with some wear to the gold trim as well as a chip to the underside rim almost invisible from above as shown. It is marked underneath with the impressed large number 3 and has Wilhelmsthal in black. The plate is 8 inches in diameter and 0.875 inches tall. Please email me for more information or photos.
