Tournai Floral Plate w/Relief Rim Design

This is a really nice floral plate made by Tournai in the 18th century. Made of soft paste porcelain and hand painted with a their best quality flowers in polychrome and a gold trim to the nicely shaped edge. The rim has a relief design to it one does not see often and really gives the plate some extra flair! There is one large polychrome floral arrangement in the center as well as a single flower and three more flowers along the rim. I think Tournay flowers are among the very best of the porcelain world. They are amazing and the soft paste porcelain and its enamels are just perfect. Very hard to find. The plate is in excellent condition with some wear to the gold trim, some minor wear and use marks to the glaze which is normal to softpaste porcelain and an area of small bubbling of the glaze as shown. It displays very nicely! The piece is marked underneath with their gold crossing swords with little crosses all around mark as well as an incised mark as shown. Green translucency with light spots typical of this maker! The plate is1.125 inches tall and 9.125 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
