UPW Round Oyster Plate #2

This is a fun round oyster plate made by the Union Porcelain Works around 1881. It is nicely shaped and molded with seaweed and shells in relief as well as a gold trim. A nice colorful version with a red crab inside one of the wells and another on the opposite side near the edge. There are 6 weels and one for the sauce. These are highly collectible and really quite nice. American porcelain after all is much less common than its European counterparts. The dish is in perfect condition with a touch of wear. It displays perfectly! It is about 1.25 inches tall with a diameter of 9.5 inches. It is marked as shown on the underside with the impressed U.P.W. eagle mark as well as the green patents mark 4 '79 and the retailer's mark for Richard Briggs Boston Mass.
