Art Nouveau Enamel Cup & Saucer

This is a superb cup and saucer made by an unknown maker - recently came across another one that had the Carl Knoll Carlsbad impressed mark udnerneath which solves this mystery piece! It is certainly from the Art Nouveau period and from the late 19th century and was made by a top maker probably in the Limoges area of France but maybe even from England. Both pieces are handpainted with a raised enamel floral design as well as a fancy redand yellow trim with gold highlights. Even the handle is quite fancyas is the foot of the cup. The saucer well is a bit of a trembleuse and keeps the cup from moving around too much. Nice baketweave design to the paste in the white areas of the cup and saucer between the floral sections. The set is in perfect condition. The cup is 1.875 inches tall and 2.625 inches in diameter. The saucer is 0.5 inches tall and 4.25 inches in diameter. Both are marked with a number 53 or 55 - the saucer in red and the cup in gold. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
