Unknown Biscuit Lion Figurine

This is a biscuit porcelain figurine made by an unknown maker in the 19th century. Royal Copehagen made a very similar lion figurine so it might be an early version of that one or one by another maker from the mid 19th century or earlier. The figure is of a male lion resting on a rectangular base with the paws hanging off the front and tail over the side. The lion is mostly unglazed porcelain with just the sides of the base being glazed. It is very well modeled with lots of superb detail especially the mane and the fur. The piece is in great condition with some firing flaws in the form of black spots to the porcelain, a small discolored spot in the tail (not a restoration!) and the right front paw is chipped underneath which is not obvious at all when on display! Some lines to the underside near the edge but they are not cracks. There is a small air hole in the center of the underside base as shown. The underside of the base is unmarked which means figuring out the maker will be really difficult but maybe someone out there knows and can send me a note. That would certainly be appreciated! The figurine is 3.375 inches tall, 3 inches wide and 6.375 inches long. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
