Interesting Little Teapot

This is a really fun piece - I always though it was a funky teapot but a client of mine suggested it might be an oil lamp and shape wise that actually makes a lot of sense. Either way the piece was made by an unknown maker in the mid 19th century or earlier. If I had to guess I would say it is English since they liked to put feet on their pieces and come up with all these odd shapes for tea pots, etc. It is made from an interesting paste that feels more like fine earthenware but is translucent so definitely some sort of porcelain. Quite light and the glaze has some crazing to it. The shape of the spout is very distinctive and will likely be the clue to solve this mystery. The little pot is nicely modeled and has some nice molded detail to it that are highlighted with gilding and puce. Lots of hand painted flowers all around. The piece is not marked at all. It is in great condition with just a touch of wear to the end of the spout and the feet and some crazing in places of the glaze. No real damage and nice restorations either. The piece is about 3.75 inches tall, 5.375 inches from handle to spout and3.375 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
