Fun Unglazed Tea Caddy / Jar

This is a fun lidded vase or tea caddy / jar made by an unknown maker in the 19th or early 20th century. The piece is made of unglazed parian porcelain and kind of reminds me a bit of the Bennington pottery type pieces but I have no idea who made this little piece here. The jar is decorated with a relief branch design all around the outside, a snake is coiled up around the base with the head coming up a bit, it has two snail handles and a design around the top rim. The lid has a nice rose bud with its leaves as the finial. Quite detailed and of very good quality but sadly it is unmarked so that is of no help either. Maybe someone out there knows more about the piece and could fill me in. The caddy is in superb condition with a few chips to the petals of the floral finial. It is 5.75 inches tall and has a diameter of 2.75 inches with the snail handles ticking out a bit on either side. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $249
