Tea Caddy

This is a tea caddy made by the Royal Vienna factory in the 18th century. It could have been made in 1797 as there is an impressed number near the footring that is hard to make out but looks like 97. The 7 is for sure but the first number is faint. The tea jar has a very attractive shape and is handpainted with two large flower arrangements - one on each side as well as two smaller flowers. The lid which is original has a flower finial and small flowers painted all along the rim. The piece is in good condition with the finial having some chips and the top rim of the caddy a shallow chip. Neither takes away from the piece! It is 4.25 inches tall and 3.5 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the underglaze blue shield mark often called a beehive, an incised 7, an impressed 97 and some red painters marks. Please email me for more information or photos.
