Figural Finial Potpourri Dish

This is a really fun lidded potpourri dish made by a Vienna factory. Looks to nice to be early so I think it is a 19th century example. Either way - it is a stunningly modeled piece with so much nice cutout work as well as those nice feet and figural handles and off course the little soldier sitting on top of the lid. Hand painted mostly in puce, turquoise and gilding with the figurine having a little more color. Just a stunning piece! The piece is in superb condition with some firing flaws - a stray paint mark as well as a large brown firing fault to the inside, an odd firing fault to the glaze of the lid which I have not seen before - the glaze is milky in that spot. Not sure if something stuck to it during the firing but it is smooth. And one teeny chip to a scroll on the side of the lid as well as a little wear to the gilding and some very minor firing cracks. The entire piece is 11 inches tall, about 7 inches wide and 4.25 inches deep. The dish is marked underneath with the underglaze blue shield mark often called a beehive on the inside rim of the base as shown. Please email me for more information or photos.
