1810 Flower Pot

This is a superb large flower pot made by Royal Vienna in 1810. It is handpainted all around with a superb floral and gold design as well as some nice gold trim and an orangy color ground color in some areas. Nice ring handles to either side. I have not seen a piece like this before and the quality of it as well as the painting is top and the size just makes it that much better! It is 7.25 inches tall and 8.375 inches in diameter. The pot is in perfect condition with even almost no wear to the gilding. The inside 0.75 inches of the top rim is a bit rough to the touch but it is glazed and from the making. The inside bottom has some old Italian coins that someone added in to raise the flower pot a bit off the ground so it can drain if need be and these are dirty and two are missing now. Maybe this was a wine cooler at some point but I am not sure about this! The pot is marked with the underglaze blue shield mark as well as a black painters mark of 62. that is underlines. There is an impressed number 810 which is the year mark as well as an impressed 22. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $1499
