Hot Water Pitcher

This is most likely a hot water pitcher or small coffee pot made by Royal Vienna in the 18th century probably about 1770. It is handpainted with two scenes in puce - one on each side as well as small flowers and a nice fancy puce trim around the spout, handle and top rim. The lid is also handpainted with one scene and has a pear finial. The pot is in good condition with a small chip on the rim by the handle that was painted over so you really can't see it. The handle seems to have been restored but it is impossible to tell. The piece is 7.25 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter. The bottom is marked with the underglaze blue shield mark as well as a puce number 56. and an impressed number 269 which might be a two and a 69 which means it was made in 1769.
