Polychrome Floral Pot de Creme #2

This is a really nice pot de creme or pot au jus made by Royal Vienna in the 18th century before (but not much) 1783. The little lidded cup would have been used either for hot chocolate or a meat broth . Both the main cup and lid have a nice relief design to the paste and are hand painted with some nice flowers - two large arrangements to the cup as well as a single smaller flower and two smaller flowers to the lid. Superb fruit finial to the lid including an apple I think with its stem and two leaves. A bit of puce trim to the handle. The set is in superb condition with a little bit of wear to the finial, a small chip to the edge of the lid that is not obvious at all and the tiniest of flakes to the bottom terminal of the handle and a small chip to the edge of the foot ring. It displays perfectly! The cup with the lid in place is 2.75 inches tall and 2.25 inches in diameter. The underside of the cup is marked with the under glaze blue beehive / shield mark as well as a red 46. and O as the painter's marks as well as an impressed i. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $229
