Rose Tureen

This is a tureen made by the Royal Vienna factory in the early to mid 19th century. I cannot make out the three digit code except that it starts with an 8 and ends with a 5 or 3. It might be 0 2 or 6 in the middle or anything else for that matter :) The terrine has a very attractive shape and is handpainted with their typical rose motif all over with some nice puce trim and some green decoration on the handles and finial. The piece is amazingly in great condition with no after the making flaws at all. A bit of staining to the rims where the lid and bottom meets and an in the making flaw on one side by the puce trim where the glaze didn't take correctly. The lidded tureen is 8.5 inches tall and 8.5 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the impressed shield mark often called a beehive (kind of hard to see as well), an impressed 19 or 49, an impressed 8?5 and a green painters mark. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $449
