Lady with Birdcage Figurine

This is a superb figurine of a lady with birdcage made by Royal Vienna around 1760. The figurine is nicely modeled and left in the white to show of all the detail and the quality of the porcelain itself. These white pieces were more valuable than the colored ones back then! The lady is wearing a hat and has a bird in the birdcage in her apron. A tree behind her. The piece is in superb condition with one piece of the birdcage broken and the leaves in that area all have a bit of damage. Amazingly the lady is perfect! The tree is in good shape as well but I think there is an entire branch missing in the back and three of the five ends are damaged. Most of the leaves one sees from the front are perfect still which always amazes me! There are two firing cracks - one in the tree trunk towards the bottom and one where the trunk and the back of her skirt meet. The figure is 8.5 inches tall, 3.5 inches wide and 2.875 inches deep. Marked underneath with the underglaze blue shield mark and an impressed P. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $1249
