Volkstedt Candlestick

This is a candle stick made by Volkstedt around 1760. It is handpainted with the straw flower design in underglaze blue all around on a ribbed relief paste used often by Thuringia makers in the 18th century. It is marked underneath with the underglaze blue crossed pitchforks as well as a script M. The candleholder is in great condition with a few manufacturing flaws normal back then like firing cracks. There is a tiny chip to the top inside and one to the bottom rim which looks like it started from a manufacturing flaw. The piece is 8 inches tall and 5.25 inches in diameter. The top part for the candle is 0.875 inches in diameter and 1.5 inches deep. Please email me for more information or photos.
