Volkstedt Large Floral Vase

This is a rare find - a large vase made by Volkstedt around 1770. It is handpainted with a great floral arrangement on the front and the back side with some scattered small flowers and leaves in between. A rather unusual piece being so large and one can see the signs of it having been potted with some lines to the paste from that. There are three rings incised into the paste as decorations. The piece in great condition with some of the usual manufacturing issues which are part of the charm for these pieces in the form of black firing spots, extra blobs of paste on the inside and missing glaze spots that have been painted over with leaves. One chip to the bottom which isn't bad and would be a very easy fix if need be. Some scratches to one rose on one side and some faint scratches to the clear glaze areas from age. Might have had a cover at some point!? The vase is marked underneath with the crossed hayforks mark which was meant to look like crossed swords. It is 8.75 inches tall and about 6 inches in diameter.
